Beauty Was My First Language

As far back as I can remember, I was fascinated by hair, makeup, fashion, fragrance, nail polish, and the countless ways people express themselves through personal style.

I mixed homemade lotions and cosmetics, experimented on my nieces and nephews, and became the friend everyone called before prom, homecoming, photographs, and special occasions.

Even then, I understood that helping someone look better was rarely just about appearance.

The right haircut, lipstick, or outfit could change how someone stood, spoke, entered a room, or saw themselves. Beauty could create confidence, connection, and a sense of possibility.

What began as childhood curiosity became more than 30 years immersed in the beauty industry, including more than 24 years as a licensed cosmetology professional.

Beauty has never been frivolous to me. It is identity, communication, creativity, ritual, and sometimes the first doorway back to yourself.



And yes—a little lip gloss never hurts.
